Ever seen something you had forgotten you ever knew about and it opens up some crazy trapdoor to the past? I recently spotted the re-issue of ‘This is London’ by Czech illustrator Miroslav Sasek in Distracted and was transported back in time. I loved this book. Almost as much as my little pink purse with the stuck-on white beads. And my Viewmaster reel of Yogi Bear. And my Spirograph set. And my Holly Hobby pillowcase… see what I mean?

How clever is Kate? London’s Kate Wilson’s work is the most splendid kind of silly and Mitchell & Dent are big fans indeed. You can be too, by visiting Kate’s Little Doodles blog. You can also find the Whipped Cream and Cupcake Birds, along with the Guardians of the Macaroon, at her Etsy Shop.

Mesdames Mitchell & Dent are swooning over this too too beautiful work by Dutch designer Lenneke Wispelwey. We’ll be happy little bunnies when her products, like the ‘Flower Me’ vases and ‘Drink Me’ cups pictured above, are available online or in Australia.

Clever Lauren Gregg from Athens (that’s Georgia, not Greece) knows her nerds. We’re not saying she is one, we would never ever presume, but she does seem to know an awful lot about what makes them tick. Lauren’s lovely little furry nerdimals are available for purchase at her online shop and you can keep up to the minute with Lauren’s work by visiting her website.

Whilst Mesdames Mitchell and Dent may favour vintage printing (circa 1905), thanks to their ever faithful Chandler & Price letterpress affectionately dubbed ‘Herbert’ , they are happy to have discovered the online sensation of the web log (all the hip young kids are doing it). Welcome to Mitchell & Dent’s tittle tattle and tales of terrificness, a blog about clever, crafty, designery folk and the things they make and do.
And who are Mesdames Mitchell and Dent, you might ask? They are purveyors of paper ephemera of note in Leederville, Western Australia. You may be interested to visit their little online shop at www.mitchellanddent.com.au.
