When I was a wee one, my Mum would take me shopping. We’d go to the butcher and I’d sit on the counter as he sliced the cold cuts and he’d give me a piece of polony and I would nibble holes for eyes and a smiley mouth and we’d go for a milkshake in a big shiny metal cup (I always wanted the red one) with paper straws just like these. Sandra Isaksson of Isak has the very best About page ever. Turns out she was brought up by trolls in a Swedish forest, sculpting clouds and painting rainbows, carving with wind and whittling snowflakes from Skybears. Her family found her pretty and plump and blueberry-kissed but she became terribly unruly, so they sent her out into the real world where she met a handsome fighter pilot prince and lives with him in England. Oh, and she designed this porcelain cup with an oak lid and you can get one from Gretel.
