Harry Rogers illustrated these screen-printed posters for the Australian airline Qantas in the 1950′s and they are ridiculously wonderful. Even more wonderful is that they are now available again, this time as limited edition giclee prints. I want the Singapore tiger, no – the Australian kangaroo, noooo – the Canadian moose, noooooo – the Pacific Islands sea turtle.

I remember the first time my dear friend Miss Marie first showed me her eraser collection. She poured the contents of a 40 litre bin onto her living room floor and we spent hours rummaging through mini hamburgers, kittens and soccer balls. I’m not quite sure I should introduce her to the wonder of Hapa Culture. I’m afraid it will only feed her addiction.

Carboard Safari have made it so we can feel like intrepid adventurers without the pith helmet, safari suit or all the animal cruelty. These spiffy-looking animal heads are made of cardboard and come flatpacked so you can assemble them yourself and dress them up however you may desire. Marvellous.

I don’t know what I can say. There are a few artists I am such a sad fan of. Jonathan Adler (and his most wonderful menegerie). Wes Anderson, of course. Josh Agle and his retro-y goodness. When I met Shag I couldn’t string two words together and could have curled up and died when my mister asked him what kind of paint he uses, just to fill an uncomfortable silence. Sometimes a real life command-Z would come in mighty handy.

I have no idea how John James Audubon managed to get his subject matter to stay still. Maybe his past profession as a taxidermist helped matters along. Prints of his beautiful paintings are available for purchase here.

As dishy as Perthonality Sam Worthington is, I’m only going to see the new Clash of the Titans if it can promise me a golden owl as incredibly kitsch and wondrous as Ray Harryhausen‘s Bubo from the old Clash of the Titans.

Here’s one for our dear friend Dan and anyone else with a soft spot for swine. The Lovi Pig is the brainchild of Finnish designer Anne Paso and is part of a series of adorable pop out postcards the receiver assembles themselves. We love them all but this little piggy has to be our favourite.

While we’re stuck on cute here at Mitchell & Dent, can we get any cuter than these animal pillows from Pennsylvania’s Vintage Jane? Almost more exciting than the illustration is the chenille backing. Chenille, oh forgotten fabric from days of yore, how we missed you. Did you know ‘chenille’ is ‘caterpillar’ in French? Would we lie to you?
