Living in a rental can cause heartache for collectors of art when mean landlords shake their fists and refuse to let you add hooks to the achingly empty walls. Omigoodness. I don’t know where to start. I’ve been loving the blog A Beautiful Mess by Elsie Flannigan, choc-a-bloc full of vintage and creative crafty goodness and fashion. That alone would be enough, but then Elsie and her chum Rachel and sister Emma have just opened Red Velvet, a seller of vintage and pretty things and sweet shoppe combined. I want to go visit, but am sadly rather far from Missouri. Not to worry, there is a Red Velvet online shop, oh yay. Emma and Elsie pictured above thanks to Float Away Studios.

Moose is a man with ideas so good they hurt. Also known as Paul Curtis, he is the English artist behind Symbollix, a group that says bollocks to the constant addition of layers to our environment (advertising, banners, tagging, et al) and takes a few off instead. They clean away the grime, dirt, mould, moss, old posters and general ickiness of urban life in the name of street art, like graffiti in reverse.
