Bow fiddly

This is a bow. Yes. It is made of wood. And it is made by Christine Buckton Tillman who also makes art and other lovely loveliness. However, if you are Stephen (and you know who you are), this is a boinchkibum.

Mint

Quick sticks. If you’ve not been to Popsicle, the pop-up shipping container shop currently in Perth’s Cultural Centre, you’ve got until 5pm today. Lots of lovely things to look at including the work of another Madame Mitchell (no relation) – local gal Maevana Mitchell is the face behind the frocks, the pretty party frocks of Peppermint Milk.

RIP little red kicks

May 13, 2010 / By Madame Dent / 2 comments

My most favourite pair of quilted, bowed, red flats have finally given up the ghost today. And as is customary with all wonderful shoes I’m not willing to part with, I will now pop them in my wardrobe for an extended period of time to glance at wistfully, before moving them to their final rubbish bin resting place. Of course, looking at lovely new flats from abroad that I cannot possibly lay my mitts on, doesn’t help one little bit. Damn you Anthropologie, Paul Smith, Irregular Choice and Kate Spade (clockwise from top left).

Hello crazy little floral shoe. What’s that? You want to come home with me? Well, only if you insist.

Froth and nonsense

January 19, 2010 / By Madame Dent / 1 comment

If you, like Mitchell & Dent, think there is a distinct lack of chiffon in cocktail dresses of late and worry that a Hervé Léger frock won’t look quite so flattering after your fourth bellini, try Beverly Hill’s Timeless Vixen Vintage. Wonderfully ridiculous silk and tulle and lace concoctions from days of yore when necklines were made for jewellery and skirts were made for dancing.
