Our chums Dan and Bec from Studio Lost & Found found this brilliant little series of dioramas with hand-lettered type by Aled Lewis in London. We love them, especially this one, and not least because Mr Lewis seems to share a similar sense of humour to us (go here and be sure to look at the back). Dumb bunnies. But as Aled says, what rabbits lack in smarts, they make up for in cute.

Following on from our last post about the speed with which this year seems to be progressing, the mesdames have decided today to adopt the Chinese zodiac calendar instead. So, happy new year! We wish you a beautiful big new year of the bunny, may it be as overwhelmingly bountiful as Herman here (yes, Herman is a real rabbit).

So exciting, our mesdames Angela Mitchell and Leah Dent were invited by Lomography Australia / New Zealand to contribute to a leg of the Diana World Tour 2011. We may have given you a sneak peek, do you remember? Along with inspirational artists including friends and faves such as Gemma Jones, Beci Orpin, Cat-Rabbit, Ghostpatrol and Eveline Tarunadjaja to name a few, our bunnycam will be one of 25 shown in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland as part of the Customised Clones Exhibition. Importantly – and listen up now – they will all be auctioned online to raise funds for See Through Me and World Child Cancer. Bidding starts February 3rd, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Julian Callos is an artist living in Los Angeles. This is what he gave his friends for Christmas (just a small selection). He made each one of his tribe a spirit animal that represents them. They are completely amazing and I bet they are now cherished and adored and talked about and handled with loving care by their new proud owners. Heh, art is a great thing, isn’t it?

Excuse the little lull in posts but yours truly has been at home with a monster sniffle, moaning about bad daytime telly and staring at the walls. If only I had more things to look at, like these brill bronzes by Walter Bosse and his missus Herta Baller. If you can’t find the midcentury originals, don’t fret. They are still being made in a sleepy snowy town on the Austrian-Hungarian border. Hurrah Modern Vienna Bronzes!

This reminds me of my sister. She loves bunnies (which I have spoken about before here) and just this week she picked herself up a little bundle from the cabbage patch. If only those crazy tales about where babies come from were true, heh Jen? Might have been a tad easier. Still. My brand new nephew Austin might like this bone china bunny lamp from Sydney’s Have You Met Miss Jones? I don’t think it comes with cabbages though.

My sister has an abiding love of rabbits, so much so that her imaginary friend was one. Not quite Donnie Darko style, but he did once lose himself in a fabric store causing my mum to spend a good few minutes searching with a teary little tot in tow. Well, thanks to Oh My Cavalier I’ve just started my Christmas shopping. And I shall name him Fluff Bum.

OK. I admit it. When I first saw the name ‘A. Speer Studio’, the thought did cross my mind that Adolf Hitler’s right-hand architect Albert Speer had somehow seen the error of his Nazi ways and switched to whimsical works of stoneware instead of stone monuments to the Third Reich. Then I realised he was dead. Sorry for the mix up Adrienne.
