Polli are my go-to gang for lovely light pressies to send overseas, but this one probably wouldn’t make it into the post.

Aaah, Very Purple Person, I get it. These ridiculously adorable cotton dresses that you make have something very important in common. They’re all ideal for the silly season, when a seventeen rumball dessert course is nothing out of the ordinary. You let our ballooning bellies be beautifully disguised. How sweet of you.

My other half is 100% Italian. He likes his pasta al dente, talks with his hands, knows his ristretto from his espresso and goes weak at the knees for Fiats. It must be rubbing off as I felt a little flutter when he introduced me to this 1959 Fiat Jolly. Originally designed for the wealthy to ride on their yachts, this ridiculously cute convertible comes complete with wicker seats and a fringed awning to shield it’s passengers from the Mediterranean sun. Ahh, la dolce vita.

A little warning from a red-faced and flustered Madame Mitchell – think before you google. An image search for something as seemingly innocent as ‘cute fat birds‘ came up with some surprising results. Although she did fare a little better than our friend Jane from Little Design Horse and Future Shelter (who, by the way, is speaking at Semi-Permanent10 here in Perth on Friday – go, book, now) who googled ‘man giving away carrots‘. So, be careful of the cute, it may not be all it seems. Brisbanites-in-Brooklyn Sniffle Co clearly understand.

But only if you want to look very silly (and a little bit cute). Crocheted bear ear headphone covers, what every girl needs.

Quick sticks. If you’ve not been to Popsicle, the pop-up shipping container shop currently in Perth’s Cultural Centre, you’ve got until 5pm today. Lots of lovely things to look at including the work of another Madame Mitchell (no relation) – local gal Maevana Mitchell is the face behind the frocks, the pretty party frocks of Peppermint Milk.

Om nom nom, vegetables love your tummy and fruit is sweet on you, don’t you know?! Well, Mitchell & Dent think so anyhow. These brand new art prints are perfect for cute kitchens and kids who need to learn more about healthy foods. This is what happens when we watch too much Jamie Oliver. Oh – and do note the Ray Cook ramekins I bought during our delightful day out in Melbourne with Miss Gemma. Yummy.

I’m not sure when Mason jars became the belle of the ball, but they’re clearly wearing the sash and tiara and lording it over the plain girls. You can’t move in girlie-blogland without stumbling across gorgeous pics of twinkling tealights in Mason jars, beautiful blooms in Mason jars, cute little animals in Mason jars. I thought I had seen it all until I saw these red velvet cupcakes in Mason jars on the Cakies blog. Recipe and all. Jarring, huh?
