I love the name Mollie. I had a wonderful tiny little round auntie called Mollie. I don’t know about this Mollie, the Mollie Greene from South Carolina’s Royal Buffet, but I bet she is wonderful too. How could she not be when she has created this buffet of papery goodness for us?

While we’re stuck on cute here at Mitchell & Dent, can we get any cuter than these animal pillows from Pennsylvania’s Vintage Jane? Almost more exciting than the illustration is the chenille backing. Chenille, oh forgotten fabric from days of yore, how we missed you. Did you know ‘chenille’ is ‘caterpillar’ in French? Would we lie to you?

M&D are monstrous fans of designers Katie Kirk and Nathan Strandberg and their studio Eight Hour Day in Minneapolis. Katie is also a crazy talented illustrator and out of the kindness of heart, she has made the world this iPhone wallpaper in honour of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland movie. Makes you grin like a Cheshire cat, that kind of kindness.

These sweet spotty ceramics are the handy-work of Dutch artist Nina van de Goor. Created from new and vintage finds, each piece is screenprinted and fired at high temperatures – becoming fit for daily use. I’m sure my tea would taste much better in one of these.

Why would you seek calm seas when you can make waves? See? See what I did there? Aren’t we deep (tee hee) here at Mitchell & Dent? Set sail over to Cartoon Monster from Portland to see this wee little crank-handled automata.

Well done Custard Cream. In a biscuit-related poll, you’ve been named number one by the Brits. You must be mighty chuffed, but I bet your friend the Jammy Dodger is a bit miffed. It’s OK. He can be comforted by the Iced Gems, not to mention the Blackpool Rock and Spotted Dick. Not those Strawberries and Cream though, they’ve got tickets on themselves, all that time spent in the royal box at Wimbledon. Bet they wouldn’t help a biscuit when it’s down.

It is so sunny and toasty warm out today. The Mesdames would quite like to be at the beach. Only, if we were at the beach we would probably just loll about and get sand in our swimmers. Not at all like Made for Fun in the US who finds beach stones to drill by hand and turn into these touchy feely buttons.

We would definitely have two serves a day of this kind of fruit. Crafted from recycled fabric and individually hand-stamped, these little plush toys for grownups are created by La Pomme in the south of France. Delicious.
