All go go

September 14, 2011 / By The Mesdames / Make a comment

Go get your diaries out. Sharpen your pencil. Mark down Sunday September 25 between 2 and 4pm. You now have a previous engagement of the awesome-est kind. Art, ink, prints by lowbrow artists from near and far (including our own Madame Dent) all in honour of the itty bitty little printing machine invented in 1977 in Japan – the GOCCO. You can even see one in action with a live demo during Outskirts (thanks to Ruck Rover and Outré Gallery).

Go Go Gocco Go Exhibition runs from 23 September to 12 October 2011
Special event: Gocco demo, Sunday 25 September 2-4pm
Outré Gallery, 260 William Street, Northbridge

The silly season

December 24, 2010 / By Madame Dent / Make a comment

Well, we’re pooped. It is past midnight and Mademoiselle Michelle is finally finishing off her last website for the year, Madame Mitchell is emptying her inbox and this is indeed the last post for a wee while. Even Little Miss Fliss is telling us to go home via Facebook. Only Mister Clifford is tucked up safe in bed (we think). We do love our work but are looking forward to taking a wee break.

We wish you all wonder and joy, good times drinking good wine with good people and the happiest of holidays from M&D. Cheers!

Eat your fruit and veg

September 2, 2010 / By Madame Dent / 2 comments

Om nom nom, vegetables love your tummy and fruit is sweet on you, don’t you know?! Well, Mitchell & Dent think so anyhow. These brand new art prints are perfect for cute kitchens and kids who need to learn more about healthy foods. This is what happens when we watch too much Jamie Oliver. Oh – and do note the Ray Cook ramekins I bought during our delightful day out in Melbourne with Miss Gemma. Yummy.

The bottom of birdcages

June 18, 2010 / By Madame Dent / 5 comments

Madame Mitchell is a modest maiden of sorts, not normally prone to gossip and gloating, but is so terribly excited to be featured in the style issue of tomorrow’s West Weekend magazine that she is happy to let it be known.

But so you know the mesdames will not be setting themselves above their station in life, Madame Dent is happy to point out that by Sunday we’ll be in the bottom of birdcages (which won’t be a bad thing if they are as pretty as the ones in this photograph featured on The Style Files).

What home means to M&D

June 4, 2010 / By Madame Dent / 5 comments

Ooh-wee. It is our turn today in the Pinterest Pin It Forward adventure. We pinned about ‘what home means to me’ and quite a diverse group of things it is indeed; given both the mesdames, Mademoiselle Michelle and Little Miss Fliss all got a look in. Although it does seem to be quite heavy on the tea and cake side of life, I’m noticing. Go take a little peek here now. Go on. Shoo. And we now pass the baton to the lovely Lesley from Canada’s Smidgebox blog who will be Pinning it Forward tomorrow. Can’t wait to see what she has in store.

The small print

March 30, 2010 / By Madame Dent / 4 comments

A little bit of shameless self promotion here. Folks are getting excited about our affordable art for little nooks and light pockets. Even the lovely Earl and Jan from Poppytalk wrote a brilliant blog post on plagiarism and illustrated their case with a Copy Cat. Once sold, these limited edition letterpressed works will never be available again. Never. Ever. Not even if you ask nicely. Bunnies and ducks make a great alternative for chocolate this Easter.

This just in

GoodnessGraciousMe

When we’re not tittle-tattling, we’re designing. Actually, to tell the truth, we tittle-tattle while we’re designing. It is not a quiet studio at Mitchell & Dent. This just in… three rather naughty letterpress goodies – birthday cards for people who aren’t sensitive about their age. Find them in our little online store.
