The mesdames are big on snail mail. We love a letter. We love letters so much that we go out of our way to lovingly adorn them with lovely stamps. In Australia, that can be darn difficult. It is not often that a stamp comes out that doesn’t have an echidna or an explorer or an extra large piece of machinery on it. Tell me, can you imagine sending a jaunty jotting or the most ceremonial of celebratory invitations in an envelope with a jolly big jumbo on it? Where oh where are the pretty stamps? Here! Best get them real quick. Folks-in-love planning pledges might want to snaffle up these limited edition 2011 Australia Post Valentines Day stamps while the goings good.

Take a teeny little letter miss post m’am and put it your teeny little sack (apologies to Elvis – but really, what does he care?). Lea Redmond is Postmaster of the World’s Smallest Postal Service. She sets up her teeny little post office in cafes and shops in San Francisco, hand writes teeny little letters at her teeny little desk, seals them with teeny little wax seals, packages them in teeny little white post sacks with teeny little magnifying glasses. Online orders also welcomed.

Super creative Pip Lincolne, blogger for Meet Me At Mike’s is such an M&D fave, all about ‘Good Stuff for Nice People’. How could we resist taking part in The Envelope Project? The Meet Me At Mike’s window in Melbourne will be transformed over the next fortnight by snail mail wonderfulness, sent from hither, thither and yon in decorated envelopes. Here is our little pre-decorated package before it hit the post. We can’t wait to see how it looks at the other end. We’ll be sure to post a link if we spot it (oh, and if you look carefully you might recognise some of the bits and bobs we sent).
