Eat your fruit and veg

September 2, 2010 / By Madame Dent

Om nom nom, vegetables love your tummy and fruit is sweet on you, don’t you know?! Well, Mitchell & Dent think so anyhow. These brand new art prints are perfect for cute kitchens and kids who need to learn more about healthy foods. This is what happens when we watch too much Jamie Oliver. Oh – and do note the Ray Cook ramekins I bought during our delightful day out in Melbourne with Miss Gemma. Yummy.

Channel your inner eighties child – think ra-ra skirts and rollerskates, blue light discos and mix tapes (on cassette of course), pastels and prettiness. This brand new Mitchell & Dent print by Mademoiselle Michelle might help too.

Take the weather with you

August 31, 2010 / By Madame Dent

What is going on? I thought winter was planning on packing up and going home soon but instead, what we’re getting is lovely for ducks. We’d quite like it if the weather would kindly progress to something more along the lines of the bottom row of this brand new Whether the Weather print by Mademoiselle Michelle (now available online from Mitchell & Dent). Let the sun shine in.

Teacups and chandeliers

August 31, 2010 / By Mademoiselle Michelle

Due to popular demand, Madame Mitchell created a set of perfectly pretty prints like the illustrations on our Mitchell & Dent website. Inspired by high tea and spring time, they would be a welcome addition to anyone’s mantle. Doesn’t your cat drink from vintage teacups too?

And?

August 24, 2010 / By The Mesdames

If you’ve found your ‘and’; as in his and hers, hugs and kisses, morning and night, sweetness and light. AND you’re getting ready for the biggest ‘and’ of all – Mr and Mrs – then look no further. The Ampersand wedding stationery suite (that’s just a fancy word for the ‘and’, don’t you know) by Mitchell & Dent is the perfect letterpressed equivalent of a grammatically-correct co-ordinating conjunction. AND, more importantly, it is darn purty.

Thrown

August 23, 2010 / By The Mesdames

Mitchell & Dent are old school. We’re real big on little things like confetti. Don’t you think it is a bit sad that wedding venues now value a clutter-free floor more than the joyful silliness of showering a bride and groom in papery specks of well-wishes? When we were little, the most exciting part of a wedding was the confetti (and the lace-laden dolls on the front of the bridal car, of course). Why not step back in time and celebrate (confetti allowed) by visiting our website, requesting a catalogue or ordering a sample pack?

Letterpressed loveliness

August 23, 2010 / By The Mesdames

Yes. You can get letterpress wedding invitations in Perth, thanks for asking. And Mitchell & Dent‘s lovely old 1905 Chandler and Price platen press, affectionately dubbed ‘Herbert’, especially likes to print the Cameo wedding stationery suite. He thinks the elegant typefaces, fancy flourishes and ornaments, and sweet little customisable cameos are most befitting the vintage printing technique of letterpress. If you do too, why not visit the website, request the catalogue or order a sample?

Everything’s rosy

August 19, 2010 / 1 comment / By The Mesdames

Inspired by Laura Ashley dresses of the 80s, John Laflin’s Liberty of London florals and 90s ‘It’ girl Plum Sykes – we spent an unreasonably long time creating Mitchell & Dent‘s very own pretty little tea rose print. It comes in five different colour palettes which can be used separately or mixed and matched. Perfect for garden celebrations in the sunshine and high teas on terraces, why not take a closer peek at the Luella wedding stationery suite on the website, in our newest catalogue or by ordering a sample pack?
