It is spring cleaning time and Madame Mitchell has her feather duster at the ready. I expect she might choose to wear something a little like this jumpsuit from Miss Hussy in Melbourne and the USA. She has carpets to clean, windows to wash and her flannelette bedding to pop back in the closet. Madame Dent is perhaps not so organised, but not to worry, her only wish for spring is to step out in frisky new footwear – toes unfettered.

Ann-Marie moved to Pennsylvania where antique stores abound, so she decided to stop making skin tight garments covered in cheap lace and instead make beautiful wearable vintage-inspired dresses, shirts and skirts for going on adventures in. So glad she did.

If you, like me, have not only kept your girlish figure but added to it, you will be besotted by Melbourne’s Peta Pledger. She makes garments to gasp over and accessories to boot, in sizes 6 to 20 (oh yay). And if you ask very very nicely, she might even make you a custom dress.

Ahoy there. Jeff Canham‘s art makes us happy as clams. A letterpress man himself, M&D are besotted by these enamel on wood works from his 2008 High Waters show. Whispers abound that Jeff will be exhibiting in Melbourne in 2010. Melbourne sure is closer than San Francisco, so we’ll keep you posted.
