Mitchell & Dent's Tittle Tattle

Perth is a tricky little town for designers. Sometimes the folks that dig things out of the ground do not dig design as much as we do. But we love it here. And we don’t want to leave. So where does that leave us? Well, for Mitchell & Dent, that means ganging up with a bunch of other creative types and showing Western Australia what we’ve got. Here is just a teeny little snippet of the wedding wonderfulness on show this weekend at the first ever First Comes Love bridal fair. It is a carefully curated, design-orientated, sweet and sassy little affair with independent exhibitors, a photo gallery, on the floor fashion, live music, sweet treats and a hair and makeup lounge (book yourself a trial here). It is warming up here in Perth. Time to get out the tongs and worship at the altar of sizzle. But if you don’t have a Patiomaster of your very own, you could always pretend paper doll style. Quick sticks. If you’ve not been to Popsicle, the pop-up shipping container shop currently in Perth’s Cultural Centre, you’ve got until 5pm today. Lots of lovely things to look at including the work of another Madame Mitchell (no relation) – local gal Maevana Mitchell is the face behind the frocks, the pretty party frocks of Peppermint Milk.

Being a bridesmaid can be all consuming, particularly when you’re the maid of honour and especially when it’s your sister tying the knot. Constantly thinking about the perfect invitation or how to set the tables or which shade of pearly nail polish to wear. At least now we have some inspiration for the lighting (thank you Antonio and Silvia). Magical.
