I am sorely tempted to purchase a pair of these from Finnish folks Company. Missy Fliss Junior loves nothing better than to so see her Grandpa rock and roll at the local tavern on a Friday night and she bops around the dance floor with Mummy Miss Fliss. However, I do wonder if we can jive in them?

For me, watermelons make me think of drunk boys at the cricket who wear them as hats. For ceramic artist Samantha Robinson, not so much.

Marisol Spoon are a mister and missus living in NYC. I’m surprised. With the fairytale sweetness of their wonderful work, I was certain they lived in a gingerbread cottage in the misty mountains, surrounded by frolicking foxes and cavorting kittens, dining on strawberries and drinking dandelion wine.

My most favourite pair of quilted, bowed, red flats have finally given up the ghost today. And as is customary with all wonderful shoes I’m not willing to part with, I will now pop them in my wardrobe for an extended period of time to glance at wistfully, before moving them to their final rubbish bin resting place. Of course, looking at lovely new flats from abroad that I cannot possibly lay my mitts on, doesn’t help one little bit. Damn you Anthropologie, Paul Smith, Irregular Choice and Kate Spade (clockwise from top left).

Despite being from the country, a little shiver goes up my spine when I hear the words ‘country’ and ‘style’ in the same sentence. I have nightmares about knotty pine kitchens with pictures of pepperpots and geese on the tiles and I think a ‘this kitchen seasoned with love’ cross-stitch might actually make me cry. And yet, Country Living online has terribly cute upcycling ideas for old oars and tennis raquets. Love – all.

On my ‘If I win Lotto’ list is the back catalogue of John Fluevog shoes, a Saarinen chair and some Jacobson cutlery. Perhaps I should try buying a ticket?

If you, like me, have not only kept your girlish figure but added to it, you will be besotted by Melbourne’s Peta Pledger. She makes garments to gasp over and accessories to boot, in sizes 6 to 20 (oh yay). And if you ask very very nicely, she might even make you a custom dress.

In the most glorious vintage-inspired swimmers by My Sister Pat in Ballarat. Fully lined cotton cossies with non-perishable rubber shirring in sizes small to extra large. Almost too divine to take a dip in.

This image makes me feel like just a kid in a candy shop… oh wait. Thankyou Barton’s Bonbonniere for being so very delicious. Thankyou architect Victor Gruen and design consultant Alvin Lustig. Thankyou Architectural Forum August 1952. Thankyou most wonderful Flickr gal Sandi Vincent (aka Sandiv999), officer of the Mid-Century Modern League (Portland Metro Area branch). Thankyou. Thankyou very much.
