Crazy cat ladies

February 15, 2010 / By Madame Dent / Make a comment

Mitchell & Dent heartily recommend you purchase your most important paper procurements from cat people like themselves. Dog people simply want to be loved, whereas cat people know how to serve. And if you’re an incredibly talented mid century illustrator like Bernice Myers, please indulge us with more pictures of cats. Then Eric Sturdevant from Virginia can post more pictures on his illustration blog Fun All Around and we’ll all be purring with contentment.

Fredmund from Frankie

We love you Frankie. Not only are you our favourite national magazine who actually takes the time to pimp Perthonalities (like good friends Little Design Horse, Distracted Merchants of Fancy, Champ and Rosie, Last Chance Studio, Little Miso, Gene Eaton, Unwrapped and oh, too too blush-making, Mitchell & Dent), but you also made us these wallpapers. Smacks of effort.

Loving Lula

Lula magazine

Miss Toni from Leederville’sĀ Rohan Jewellery just lent us Lula, Girl of my Dreams and we’re not sure we’re going to give her back. This UK magazine is so so dreamy and not just because it has lashings of M&D fave font Kursivschrift. You might find it difficult to find the latest issue right here right now, but if you ask nicely, I’m sure Mag Nation will send you the next one for a fee. Off you pop, then.

Blast from the past

Sasek

Ever seen something you had forgotten you ever knew about and it opens up some crazy trapdoor to the past? I recently spotted the re-issue of ‘This is London’ by Czech illustratorĀ Miroslav Sasek in Distracted and was transported back in time. I loved this book. Almost as much as my little pink purse with the stuck-on white beads. And my Viewmaster reel of Yogi Bear. And my Spirograph set. And my Holly Hobby pillowcase… see what I mean?
