The mesdames are constantly drawn to pretty shiny things and you can’t get much prettier and shinier than the wonderful work by Confetti System in Brooklyn. You’ll be delighted to know you can get a little dose of their goodness from Third Drawer Down in Melbourne.

Hear all about it! Hear all about it! Exciting news! Mitchell & Dent is now a part of The Pressroom and Co in the US. What is The Pressroom and Co? It is a collective of very clever letterpress stationers from the USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia and is an initiative of the extraordinarily lovely Valerie and Jim from Spark (first comes love and then comes letterpress). So, for folks across the pond who have been coveting our designs but have been hampered by the exchange rate and non-US-standard sizes, why not order through The Pressroom and Co? Off you pop now poppets.

Letterpressed loveliness
January 12, 2011 / By Mademoiselle Michelle

Living in a rental can cause heartache for collectors of art when mean landlords shake their fists and refuse to let you add hooks to the achingly empty walls. Thankfully La La Land and Juan Carlos Camacho have come to the rescue with these clever cardboard frames you can simply blu-tac straight to the wall, door or anywhere else you fancy. They also have pretty prints from the likes of Art and Ghosts and Courtney Brims which fit perfectly inside the frames. So there.

When our friend, the very lovely Jessica Shaver (go peek), said there is only ten days until Christmas we told her to take it back. Bum. No time then, to order delicious little decos like these ones from Folksy. No excuse though not to be merry and bright.

Do you know that feeling when you have soooo much to do, but your head is in the clouds and nothing is getting done very fast. Uh-huh. That would be me. I might just stare at this dreamy little paperscape by Gosh & Golly until inspiration comes.

The most exciting news. Mitchell & Dent are both brand new aunties and in the past twenty four hours too, due to a crazy turn of events. We’re so thrilled for our sisters and their partners and can’t wait to spend time cuddling Mademoiselle Georgia Mae and Master Austin, who are undoubtedly the most beautiful two babies we have ever seen.

It is warming up here in Perth. Time to get out the tongs and worship at the altar of sizzle. But if you don’t have a Patiomaster of your very own, you could always pretend paper doll style. Argentine illustrator Maxim Dalton comes to the rescue with his Sunday Barbeque Cut-out Set (above) or his Cocktail Party Cut-out Set (below). We even know a gal who was an official sausage judge who might be able to make a meaty recommendation or two.

My sister has an abiding love of rabbits, so much so that her imaginary friend was one. Not quite Donnie Darko style, but he did once lose himself in a fabric store causing my mum to spend a good few minutes searching with a teary little tot in tow. Well, thanks to Oh My Cavalier I’ve just started my Christmas shopping. And I shall name him Fluff Bum.

I’m not sure what these number clips from Present & Correct are actually for, but as they are letterpress and paper and have pretty typographic numerals on them, they are as appealing to the mesdames as shiny things are to magpies.
