A little bit dotty

These sweet spotty ceramics are the handy-work of Dutch artist Nina van de Goor. Created from new and vintage finds, each piece is screenprinted and fired at high temperatures – becoming fit for daily use. I’m sure my tea would taste much better in one of these.

Picture books

Sheffield lass Su Blackwell knows how to create pictures with words. These miniature dioramas are delicately formed from old books carefully sourced from second-hand bookstores. These sculptures are like pop-up picture books for adults. No touching.

What a mouth-watering sight. This sweet candy-lier is made up of 5,000 hand-strung acrylic gummi bears, there are only 10 available and each one takes up to 2 months to complete. Check out the Jellio website for giant ice cream sandwich benches and cupcake tables.

Made in England

Like this rolling pin, I too am made in England. Unfortunately I have no typographic treatment announcing my place of origin. Made in bone china with turned beech handles, this gorgeous rolling pin is the brainchild of Kathleen Hills. Oh, if only I baked.

These birdies are much sweeter than the ones sat outside my window at 5am. Bird in the Bush stackable ceramic cups not only save space, but look delightful perched on anyone’s kitchen bench.

An obsession with vintage doilies has seen Jean Lee from Ladies & Gentlemen put her crochet skills to good use. These full size area rugs are hand knotted with cotton rope using vintage doily patterns. We like it when people think big.

We would definitely have two serves a day of this kind of fruit. Crafted from recycled fabric and individually hand-stamped, these little plush toys for grownups are created by La Pomme in the south of France. Delicious.

A trickle of colour

What a delicious sight – a wedding cake enveloped in pure white royal icing with cascading colourful confetti. Nothing says celebration quite like itty bitty coloured candy circles.

These little lovelies have been cleverly crafted by Sydney-based illustrator Kareena Zerefos. Capturing the imaginary worlds of children with pen, gouache, tea and ink, who wouldn’t want to see a flying elephant on their wall?
